• 東北大学学生生活調査Tohoku University Survey of Student Life

  学生生活審議会が実施する調査です。学部から大学院に至るすべての在学生を対象に実施し、学習や学生生活について尋ねる調査です。長く隔年で実施してきましたが、2019年度からは毎年実施するようになりました。

  A survey conducted by the Student Support Committee. All enrolled students, from undergraduate to graduate level, are eligible to participate. The survey assesses student life and learning. Formerly, it was conducted every two years. It has been conducted annually since 2019.

  学務審議会と教育評価分析センターが実施する調査です。卒業・修了していく学生を対象に東北大学での学びと経験を振り返ってもらう調査で、2年に1度実施しています。

  A survey conducted by the Academic Affairs Council and Center for Institutional Research. This survey is conducted once every two years. It provides a chance for graduating students to reflect on their learning and experiences at Tohoku University.

  学生が東北大学に関する要望をGoogle Formで投書できるページを設けています。求めに応じて大学から回答しています。

  This page allows students to post requests for Tohoku University using a Google Form. The university may send a response, depending on the request.

• 全学教育モニタリング制度General Education Monitoring System

  各学部から1～2名、東北大学学友会体育部及び文化部から各1名を「全学教育学生モニター」に選定。毎年2月に「全学教育に関する学生との懇談会」を開催して直接意見を聞いています。

  One or two members from each faculty, and one member each from the Tohoku University Gakuyu-kai sports and cultural divisions, are chosen as General Education Student Monitors. Every February they hold a “”General Education Student Conference”” where direct discussions are conducted.

• 授業評価アンケートCourse Experience Questionnaire

  全学教育・専門教育等の各授業レベルで学習や経験について報告してもらい、主に授業改善に活かしています。

  Students describe their learning and experience in each General Education/Specialized course. The results are mainly used to improve the courses.

Renovation of facilities施設の整備・改善

青葉山、川内北、片平、星陵キャンパスの厚生施設（食堂）の改修を行いましたRenovations to welfare facilities (cafeterias) on the Aobayama, Kawauchi, Katahira, and Seiryo campuses

学生生活調査や東北大学生活協同組合のアンケートから、昼食時の混雑や待ち時間が長いという声が多く寄せられ、食堂内のレイアウト変更を行い、混雑解消を図りました。

Many people reported crowded conditions and long waits at lunch time in student surveys and Tohoku University Co-op Dining Services questionnaires. The cafeteria layouts were changed to reduce crowding.

ユニバーシティ・ハウスの入居年限を1年間から2年間に延長しましたMaximum stay at University House dorms extended from 1 to 2 years

入居学生を対象とした退居時アンケートで、「入学してユニバーシティ・ハウスに入居し、学生生活が軌道に乗ったところで引越しを考えることになり、不安を感じるため、入居期間を１年から２年に変更してほしいという声が多くあり、入居期間を２年に変更しました。

In the move-out questionnaire, many dorm residents indicated that after moving into their dorm room, they felt anxiety over finding a new place to live, even as they were trying to adjust to student life, and would therefore like to live in a dormitory for two years. So, the maximum length of stay was extended to two years.

平成30年10月に開館したユニバーシティ・ハウス青葉山では、大きめサイズのクローゼット及びシューズロッカーを設置しましたUniversity House Aobayama opens in October 2018 with spacious closets and shoe lockers

ユニバーシティ・ハウス三条に入居している女子学生からの意見を参考に、ユニバーシティ・ハウス青葉山の家具選定等は女子学生の意見を採用しています。

University House Aobayama furnishings were selected after surveying opinions from residents at University House Sanjo.

学生寮の飲酒問題解決に向けたモデルケースとして、明善寮を敷地内全面禁酒の寮としてリニューアルしましたMeizen dormitory reopened as a model alcohol-free dormitory as solution to alcohol-related incidents

以前から、飲酒に向かない、飲酒を好まない学生及び保護者から安全・安心に勉学及び居住したいとの声が多く寄せられていました。そこで、明善寮を敷地内全面禁酒の寮として、平成27年に施設設備改修を行いました。

Dormitory residents, and their parents/guardians, have requested housing in which students who cannot, or do not wish to, drink alcohol can live and study in a safe/secure environment. In 2015, the Meizen dormitory was re-opened as a completely alcohol-free facility.

平成30年度には、川内サークル部室等の改修を行いましたKawauchi Circle clubhouses renovated in 2018

学生団体の学生の声を受け、経年劣化（特に衛生面）が激しかった部室棟改修の要望があり、2018年度の全学的教育・厚生施設整備計画の一環として、川内サークル部室等の改修を実現しました。

As there was very strong demand for improvements (particularly with regard to sanitation) to student organization facilities, Kawauchi Circle clubhouses etc. were renovated in 2018 as part of a campus-wide effort to improve student welfare facilities.

平成28年度には、評定河原運動場のトラック全天候舗装化を行うとともに、川内グラウンドの人工芝化も実現しましたHyojokawara Athletic Field paved for all-weather use and artificial turf installed on Kawauchi grounds in 2016

学生生活調査に寄せられた意見や学生団体の学生から、天候等による活動が制限されないようしてほしいとの要望がたびたび寄せられていました。そうした声を受け、平成28年度の全学的教育・厚生施設整備計画の一環として、評定河原運動場の全天候舗装化、川内グラウンドの人工芝化を実現しました。

In student surveys and feedback from student organizations, students often expressed their desire to pursue extracurricular activities regardless of the weather. In response, the Hyojokawara Athletic Field was paved for all-weather use and artificial turf was installed on the Kawauchi grounds in 2016 as part of a campus-wide effort to improve student welfare facilities.

青葉山東キャンパスにコンビニエンスストアがオープンしましたConvenience Store Opened at Aobayama Higashi Campus

前店舗が閉店して以降、復活を求める声が多く寄せられたことを受け、コンビニエンスストアが7月にオープンしました。

A new convenience store opened in July 2023 in response to many requests for its revival after the previous store closed.

川内テニスコートの改修工事を行いましたKawauchi Tennis Courts Rennovated

学生生活調査や学生団体からの要望を受け、2022年度全学的教育・厚生施設整備計画の一環として、経年劣化が著しかった川内テニスコートの人工芝修繕を実施しました。

In response to requests from the Tohoku University Survey of Student Life and student organizations, the University repaired the artificial turf of the Kawauchi Tennis Court, which had deteriorated significantly over time, as part of the 2022 University-wide Educational and Welfare Facilities Improvement Plan.

東北大学独自の給付型奨学金制度を創設しましたEstablishment of independent Tohoku University scholarship system

「成績優秀者に対する給付型奨学金や授業料の減免を検討して欲しい」「学部生向けの給付型奨学金を大学院生にも拡張して欲しい」などの学生の声を受け、東北大学独自の財源で給付型奨学金制度を創設しました。

Tohoku University established its own independently-funded scholarship system in response to student requests for scholarships or tuition waivers for excellent students, and expanded scholarship eligibility to graduate as well as undergraduate students.

キャンパス内のEduroamカバーエリアの拡大など、Wi-Fi環境の整備が進められていますCampus Wi-Fi availability improved by expanding Eduroam coverage etc.

「Wi-Fiが弱く授業に支障がでている」、「Wi-Fiが入らない講義室があり資料の閲覧ができない」などの学生の声があり、キャンパス内のWi-Fi環境の整備が進められています。

In response to student reports that weak Wi-Fi signals were hindering their classes or preventing them from browsing course materials in classrooms, efforts were made to improve the campus Wi-Fi.

附属図書館の平日の開館時間延長と土日開館を推進してきましたExpanded and weekend hours implemented at University Library

これまでにも学生から図書館の利便性向上を求める声が寄せられてきていたのを受け、附属図書館では段階的に開館時間延長や土日開館を進めてきました。例えば2017年には「24時間開館」を求める学生の声も寄せられ、検討を行いましたが、「利便性」に加え「安全性」も確保する必要性もありまだ実現には至っていません。

In response to student demand for better library access, University Library hours have been expanded and extended to weekends. In 2017, some students called for 24-hour library access, but this was not implemented due to concerns about balancing accessibility and security.

Student Safety & Security学生の安全・安心

学生相談所と各学部・研究科が協力して、教職員対象のハラスメント防止研修、学生向け講演会などを実施し、予防のための活動を強化していますThe University Counseling Center and all faculties/graduate schools are cooperating to implement harassment prevention training for staff and lectures for students, thus improving our prevention activities.

「ハラスメント行っている人に対して厳しく処分して欲しい。」「学生から情報を待たずに、能動的に調査して欲しい。」などの学生の声を受けて、学生相談・特別支援センターの学生相談所が中心となって、予防活動を強化しています。

In response to calls for stronger penalties for harassment and proactive investigations by the university, enhanced harassment-prevention measures were implemented by the Counseling Office at the Center for Counseling and Disability Services.

交通事故やカルト勧誘対策を検討するための基礎資料として活用し、「学生支援だより」などを通じて学生への情報提供・注意喚起を続けていますWe will continue to provide prevention information and warnings regarding traffic accidents, cult recruitment activities, etc. through the “Gakuseishien Dayori” newsletter.

学生から寄せられた声を基に、学生生活支援審議会において対策を検討し、学生へ情報提供・注意喚起を行っています。

The Student Support Committee considers feedback from students when providing information and notifications.

International Education国際教育の推進

短期海外研修（SAP・FL）の拡充を図っていますExpansion of short-term study abroad (SAP/FL)

「語学力の向上のため」「外国生活によって視野を広げたい」「異文化交流・異文化理解をしたい」という学生の海外留学ニーズを踏まえ、グローバルラーニングセンターでは短期海外研修(SAP・FL)を開発・拡充してきました。短期海外研修では、学内で事前・事後研修を行い、現地研修（またはオンライン研修）のすべてに参加することで、単位を取得することができる科目として実施しています。

The Global Learning Center developed and expanded short-term study abroad (SAP/FL) in response to the students’ need to improve their language skills, expand their perspectives by living overseas, and practice intercultural exchange/understanding. SAP/FL conducts on-campus predeparture/post-return training in which students can earn credits by participating in all on-site (or online) training that is offered as subjects.

留学準備支援としてオンラインのプログラムも実施していますStudy abroad preparation support program also offered online

第13回学生生活調査を通して、海外留学を希望していても、特に準備をしていない人が２割ほどいることが明らかになりました。そこで、2020年度からは留学準備支援をオンライン化し、留学の実現に向けて具体的な行動に移すことをオンライン研修も実施しています。

According to the 13th Tohoku University Survey of Student Life, about 20% of students who wanted to study abroad had made no particular preparations to do so. Therefore, assistance with study abroad preparation has been offered online since AY 2020 to help students take concrete steps toward actually studying abroad.

Student Life Support学生生活支援

100円朝食を実施しました100 yen breakfast was offered to students.

東北大学基金や萩友会への支援者からの応援により、100円で食べられる朝食を学生に提供しました。

With support from the Tohoku University Fund and supporters of TU alumni ‘Shuyukai’, breakfast was served to students for 100 yen.

キッチンカーのトライアルを実施しましたFood trucks were invited to campus for a trial.

食堂の混雑緩和とキャンパスの賑わいの創出のためにキッチンカーを出店しました。

The food trucks were invited to relieve the congestion in the cafeteria and create a lively outdoor atmosphere on campus.
